Character Animation Mentorship

Join the Mentorship Live Classes where you can bring any Questions,  have Shot Reviews, Demo Reel Reviews, etc. The instructor creates a learning plan specific to you depending on your skills and objectives.

Get access to the Creature Animation Crash Course videos and Figure Animation Recording while your subscription is active. The course contains Lectures, Demos, Theory, Analysis and more that we will reference to on the Live Classes.

Please Read all the info below to get a better understanding of everything and send us an email if you have any questions regarding the Mentorship (fernando@animationden.com).

How does it work?

Your learning path is specific to you. Once you join, the instructor will create a plan with you according to your level and objectives. This means at the Lives you will be studying amongst students from different levels and objectives, that makes the sessions more interesting for the students watching each other reviews.

You can choose to follow the Creature Crash Course assignments, bring your own personal studies, follow a classic Online School path (basic foundations, body mechanics, acting) or anything else that you and the instructor agree makes sense for you.

Your learning experience will come from 3 main pilars: the Recorded Content, Animating Assignments and getting Live Reviews on them.

What is the start date?

You start as soon as you enroll and join the first Live. There are no specific start dates.

How long is the Mentorship?

It's entirely up to you. It is setup as a Monthly Subscription so you can start or stop at your convenience. If you are planning to take a complete path from beginner to advanced, plan to study for at least 1 year. But it largely depends on your objectives and your skill level.

What are the Prerequisites?

Since we build your learning path with you, there are no prerequisites other than having a base knowledge of Maya or another Animation Software. The Mentorship is not focused on software but in Animation skill, so just make sure you understand the software enough that it won't be a barrier for you.

Can I use any Software?

You can. But we recommend using Maya so you can take advantage of our rigs and Occasionally the Instructor poking around your file to show something specific. Plus, it's the industry standard so it could be an advantage to get as comfortable as you can on it.

How and When are the Live Classes?

The Live Classes are usually around 2hs long on Discord and Syncsketch and it's where we will take any questions you have and review the assignments of the students present, if you can't make it for any reason, you can leave your assignment on Syncsketch and we'll record a review at the end.

The Lives happen at Animation Den's Discord server according to the year-round CALENDAR you see after you Login.

What do I get access to?

You receive access to all the videos on the Creature Animation Crash Course and the Figure Animation Workshop recording. Where you'll find Lectures, Demos, Theory, Analysis, that will be important material the instructor will reference to often according to your learning plan. You also get access to the Rigs listed below.
